HPP WORKSHOP – STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT IN SPORT ORGANIZATIONS

We invite you to join the community of international stakeholders at the HPP Workshop: Strategic Development in Sports Organizations aiming to improve planning capacities for managers in sport organizations through interesting lectures, guided discussions, and knowledge exchange.

The HPP Workshop provides rare opportunity to exchange ideas, experience and good practices between various stakeholders in sport in Western Balkan region which is not lacking challenges in all areas of sport: from financing to the lack of infrastructure among the most pressing ones. The bigger the challenge the more it needs a proper, smart, and systematic approach which can only be developed through careful planning and great execution.

The HPP Workshop will help managers from Club to Federation to level about best approaches towards developing a proper strategy for your organization.

Introduction to Strategic planning for Sport Organizations

In a short lecture, prof. dr. Tomaž Čater, Head of Sport Management Programme at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana will guide you through Strategy development best practices: From setting the right vision towards developing your approach towards your organization’s goals. The lecture will follow the HPP’s universal approach whereas its key takeaways will be of use to managers in sport organization of various types and sizes.

Discussion Panel

In an open discussion the high-ranking representatives of the Ice Hockey Federations in the Western Balkan region will discuss their approach to strategic planning and share their experiences as well as the best practices and challenges through the whole process: from strategy development to its implementation.

Strategic Hackathon

Hackathon is sprint-like event in which teams with the help of mentors intensely work together to find a solution in a very short period of time. The approach is widely used in enterprises, ranging from transnational corporation to small startups to find solutions for challenges. During the Strategic hackathon participants will work on real challenges in their organizations and try to come up with the best possible solutions and present their ideas to other participants.

HPP Manager Code of Conduct Presentation & Signing

After building the awareness about importance of Good Governance in Sport organizations and listening to great lectures on Ethics in Sports Management the project partners have worked together to come up with a joint Code of Conduct for Managers in Sport Organizations which will be presented and signed at the event. The signing of the Code of Conduct is just the first step towards better management in sport and will be introduced to all members of the Project Partner Organizations and wider.

The Workshop is a part of a Hockey Partnership for Progress (HPP) Project which is Co-Founded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and Co-organized by Project Partners and other supporting organisations.
